Our Department (APRD) offers a wide variety of traditional and non-traditional recreational activities for adults, teens, and children. This includes athletic programs, adult volleyball and basketball, alternative programs, community enrichment programs, camps, and a wide variety of classes and special events. In addition, this department offers a number of options for rentals of rooms, fields, shelters, etc.

Our Mission 

The mission of the Plaquemines Parish Arts, Parks, and Recreation Department (APRD) is to create community through people, parks and programs by providing diverse, high-quality services that benefit the health, wellness, and culture of all Plaquemines Parish residents.

Our Vision 

The Plaquemines Parish APRD advances opportunities for a healthy, robust, and sustainable system of parks, facilities, programs, and services that facilitate and enhance the lives of the Parish’s growing community and unique natural and cultural landscape.
