Plaquemines is Louisiana’s southernmost parish where the great Mississippi River meets the Gulf of Mexico. The parish is a region of ecological wonder with its many waterways, fishing, and hunting grounds. It is truly a Sportsman’s Paradise with some of the best commercial and sportsman fishing areas in the world.
The Plaquemines Parish Sheriffs Office handles the entire criminal, civil, and tax divisions operations, and provides police protection throughout the parish.
Most of the commercial areas in the parish are located along Highway 23. In addition to these local shopping areas, residents also have access to the enormous network of commercial malls, shopping centers and other facilities located throughout the metropolitan area.
