Solid Waste Notification – Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday, all Government Buildings will be CLOSED on Monday, January 19th. Additionally, there will be NO garbage pickup on Monday, January 19th. The compactor sites in Belle Chasse and South Plaquemines will be CLOSED on January 19th. Trash bins will be positioned outside the gate during this period. All Government Buildings will continue normal operations Tuesday, January 20th. Garbage collection services will resume on the next scheduled business day.
