Today, we highlight the Louisiana Medal of Honor Park. Located in the 5th District, at 1292 Barriere Road. This 30 acre park is dedicated to more than 3,400 medal of honor recipients. The Medal of Honor is our nation's most distinguished award. It is an award available for recognizing a significant act of heroism while serving the United States military.
Plaquemines Parish is honored to be the home of this great park and museum.
Never been to the Medal of Honor Park? Join Council Member Patty McCarty for the Second Annual Fifth on the Fifth community celebration at Medal of Honor Park, Friday, July 5, 2024 from 6PM-dusk. There will be fireworks, food, drinks, and live music. This is truly an incredible and free community event!
