[ARCHIVED] Plaquemines Parish Receives AARP Grant to Expand Recreation Opportunities

2025 AARP Community Challenge Grantee - Community project funded by AARP to enhance public spaces, i

We are thrilled to share that we are one of 383 grantees selected to receive a 2025 Community Challenge grant from AARP Livable Communities! We are incredibly proud that @aarp selected us for this investment to make Plaquemines Parish Arts, Parks, and Recreation more livable for residents of all ages.
Through this grant we will resurface an outdoor tennis court converting it into an outdoor pickleball court. The new pickleball court will add to expand programming for older residents. These enhancements will encourage year-round physical activity, social interaction, and community connection. You can learn more about the AARP Community Challenge grant program at www.aarp.org/CommunityChallenge.
