PLAQUEMINES PARISH LAUNCHES A MOBILE APP “PPG GEAUX” OFFERING INSTANT ACCESS TO COMMUNITY SERVICES

Plaquemines Parish, LA- Plaquemines Parish Government has partnered with CivicPlus, an integrated technology provider for local government, to launch a fully customized mobile app. PPG Geaux will allow Plaquemines Parish to accomplish its goal by offering constituents greater access and convenience to announcements, events, and resources through its set of robust features.

CivicPlus Project Manager Lily Castro said many citizens are familiar with using mobile apps, and the PPG Geaux app provides that same “ease-of-access”. As Lily further explains, users can view their newsfeeds from their phone’s home screen “in just one touch,” rather than having to manually search through a web browser.

“In just one touch, your citizen can view calendar events, news items, agendas, etc.”

Now, constituents will have quick access to services they are familiar with, in addition to new features and a user-friendly design.

Key Features of the PPG Geaux mobile app include:

  • A simpler online application process that is easier to navigate.
  • An informational landing page where Plaquemines Parish can share important messages.
  • Quick access to Pay Fees, Report Concerns, Access Agendas, Find Local Events, Meetings, Contacts, and More.

Shannta Carter, Communications Director for Plaquemines Parish Government, said that our app will make information easily accessible and enhance communication between our constituents, staff, and the administration.

“As the app’s usage becomes more prevalent, we’ll be able to see which tabs constituents use the most and more easily add additional information as needed based on their engagement with the app.”
