Sheriffs Office
The Plaquemines Parish Sheriffs Office handles the entire criminal, civil, and tax divisions operations, and provides police protection throughout the parish. Plaquemines is under 24-hour patrol by the criminal division. All patrol vehicles are radio equipped to maintain constant contact with radio headquarters in Port Sulphur. The Parish Prison is located in Pointe-a-la-Hache, and a supplemental lockup is located at 333 F. Edward Hebert Blvd, Budling 1000.

The Plaquemines Parish Fire department is a combination department that has a mixture between career on-duty personnel and volunteers that dedicate their time to the departments whenever possible.
